40 Years of Princeton Tec American Manufacturing

It all started 40 years ago in Princeton, New Jersey. Bill Stephens was running the dive shop he founded, and punching the clock at his day job. An engineer by day; an entrepreneur by night. When Bill’s 9 to 5 tried to relocate the Stephens family to Indianapolis, far away from the Atlantic Ocean where he loved to dive, Bill quit and refocused on manufacturing the industry's first automatic dive timer – he affectionately dubbed it the "Bottom Timer." This was the beginning of Princeton Tec. Over the years, Scuba lights began to take over the PTEC line up. Eventually, Princeton Tec expanded its lighting solutions to fit the needs of more than just divers. Presently, PTEC develops and manufactures personal lighting systems for outdoor, tactical, industrial, bike and scuba professionals and enthusiasts alike. Today, Princeton Tec is still a family-owned and run business with out own engineering and design teams. We run our own machine shop and injection molding facilities. Most importantly we’ve remained an American manufacturer and local employer since the beginning. We’re proud of that fact.
